POINTS FROM SECOND CHAPTER
Allah guideth whom He will unto a Straight path.
1 2
Thus We have appointed you a middle nation...
If you do not want to be among the wrongdoers, then act according to the Quranic knowledge rather to follow other's desires
If you wish to be rightly guided and have completion of Allah Grace, then strictly follow Allah's commandaments and in this regard do not be afraid of anyone rather fear Allah only...
Believers are required to seek help in steadfastness and prayer.
And call not those who are slained in the way of Allah "dead" They are living, only you cannot perceive that(reality)
And Surely We shall try you with something of fear and hunger, and loss of wealth and lives and crops; but give glad tidings to the steadfast,
Those have curse of Allah who hide the revealed and clearly made guidance in book. Except such of them as repent and amend....
Those who hide aught of the revealed Scripture and purchase a small gain therewith, they eat into their bellies nothing else than fire. Theirs will be a painful doom
...But he who is driven by necessity, neither craving nor transgressing, it is no sin for him. Lo! Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.
Follow not the footsteps of the devil(i.e. do not disobey Allah's commandaments)
Forefather's self-made traditions and customs have no value if they are against revealed Guidance
Allah has revaled the Scriputre with the Truth. Lo! those who find (a cause of) disagreement in the Scripture are in open schism
Characteristics of God-fearing people: believe in Allah; and the Last Day and the angels and the Scriputre and the the Prophets; and give their wealth for love of Him, to kinsfolk and to orphans and the needy and the way-farer and those who ask, and to set slaves free; and observe proper worship and pay the poor-due ; keep their treaty when they make one, and patient in tribulation and adversity and time of stress. These qualities are standard of righteousness
This is a duty for all those who ward off (evil) to bequeath unto parents and near relatives in kindness, when they are near to death and are leaving wealth.
Fasting is much better than offering ransom for the days one could not fast
And eat not up your property among yourselves in vanity, nor seek by it to gain the hearing of the judges that you may knowingly devour a portion of the property of others wrongfully
Spend your wealth for the cause of Allah, and be not cast by your own hands to ruin; and do good
Ask from God which is good in the world and in the Hereafter
O ye who believe! Come, all of you, into submission.
He who altereth the grace of Allah after it has come unto him(for him), lo! is severe in punishment
Allah may grant whom He will:
i)provision without stint
ii)a Straight path
(iii) sovereignty
People differed/differ in Divine Scripture, through hatred one of another
It may happen that you hate a thing which is good for you, and it may happen that you love a thing which is bad for you. Allah Knows, you know not
And whoso becomes a renegade and dies in his disbelief: Such are they whose works have fallen both in the world and the Hereafter. Such are rightful owners of the Fire.
Truly Allah loes those who turn unto Him, and loves those who have a care for cleanness
Go not in unto women when they are in menstruation
Be careful in your marital life. Those who forswear their wives must wait four months; then, if they change their mind, lo! Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.
Women have rights similar to those (of men) over them in kindness, and men are a degree above them.
Divorce must be pronounced twice and then (a woman) must be retained in honour or relased in kindness.
When you have divorced women, and they have reached their term, then decide about them. Retain them not to their hurt so that you transfress(the limits).
Make not the revelations of Allah a laughtingstock
Mothers shall suckle their children for two whole years; (that is) for those who wish to complete the suckling.
Show courtesy to women and utter only for them recognized(accepted) form of words.
And forget not kindness among yourselves.
and stand up(for prayer) for devotion to Allah.
If due to any reason, you divorced a woman:
It is not lawful for you that you take from women aught of that which you have given them.
Do not be unjust to her, during the prescribed time limit (Iddat) or after the divorce. And place not difficulties in the way of their marrying....
And it is not lawful for you that ye take fom women aught of that which ye have given them; except (in the case) when both fear that they may not be able to keep within the limits(imposed by) Allah. And if ye fear that they may not be able to keep the limits of Allah, in that case it is no sin for either of them if the woman ransom herself.
For divorced women a provision in kindness: a duty for those who ward off (evil)
Allah is the Lord of Kindness to mankind, but most of mankind give not thanks
How many a little company has overcome a mighty host by Allah's leave!
And if Allah had not repelled some men by others the earth would have been corrupted.
